Team manager of the family intervention team. Managing a team of 24, a mix of social workers, specialist family support workers, Theraputic social workers, Theraputic family worker, child exploitation workers and a community police support officer.
I have oversight of the team, although I only supervise 12. I allocate work and monitor progress and plans setting goals and targets alongside the workers. I attended manager meetings for the council were we decide the outcome of referrals such as services from my team. Our team work with families to try and prevent them from entering child protection levels or foster care. Or if already at these levels we work to try and reduce the risk or support the children to return home.--

Working independent from case social workers to ensure care plans for each child met the needs of the child and all actions on the care plan were carried out within timescales. Ensuring permanancy was sought for children in a timely manner, challenging the local authorities plan if deemed appropriate. Visiting the child in their placement and advocating on their behalf should it be deemed necessary. Chairing the child's looked after review. Chairing child protection conferences to assess risk for children and if deemed to be at risk of significant harm I worked with other agencies to formulate child protection plans.--
