Highlights:The development, implementation and leadership of a successful project in a school called SAW. This stands for science, art and writing. Together with a fellow science and art teacher we implemented a school wide cross-curricular program aimed to bring together these three subjects in a meaningful and fun way. The program was observed and highly regarded by the British education office of Ofsted, who were inspecting the school at the time of the program. It was a success and one of the most memorable times of my teaching career thus far.

Goal:I am a fully qualified teacher with three years experience. My goals would be to obtain a position as a School Teacher so I can utilize my strong dedication to children’s development and to their educational needs. I would like to build a long-term career as an teacher with opportunities for career growth and to keep up with the cutting edge of the teaching technologies.As well as this I aim to encourage creativity and higher-order thinking to increase children performance. Membership:I am a fully qualified and paying member of the Irish Teachers Council. This regulatory system ensures that I am a registered teacher in Ireland and that I attend regular continuous professional development meetings in order to improve my teaching abilities and strategies.

Certification:In 2012- 2013 I attended University College Cork, Co. Cork. I completed my Postgraduate Degree, Professional Diploma in Education. I achieved a 2.1 degree. In 2008 – 2012 I attended the University of Limerick, Limerick, Co. Limerick where I completed my Undergraduate Degree, a Bachelor of Arts in English and History where I also achieved a 2.1 degree.

Honor:I was awarded a certification, The English as a Foreign Language Academy Award for my work with students who have trouble with English as a foreign language. I also received honorable mention from Ramzi Germanos, the Regional Director of the Arabian Gulf school Sabis, where I currently teach. He stated after an observation of my classroom teachingthat my 'professional manner in the classroom was excellent in terms of discipline, teaching ability/knowledge and presence in class.

My position was an English teacher for years 8, 9, 10, 11. This focused on English for key stages 3 and 4. As well as this I was also a Tutor leader for year 11.
Throughout my year at the Thetford Academy I learbed a great deal and completed many hours of continuous professional development. I competed extracurricular teaching and learning with year 11 for their iGCSE exams including Saturday’s schools, one on one intervention and after school classes focusing on their literature exam. It was during this year that I was awarded for my EAL intensive training with the EAL academy which consisted of 6 intense sessions. Being in charge of the previously mentioned SAW initiative I developed skills in reliability, organisational skills, confidence and responsibly.--

Overall, I achieved a 2.1 degree.
