I collaborate with leaders to implement sustainable mitigation strategies and conduct training sessions to build capacity.
1) Our groundbreaking study meticulously evaluated the environmental impacts of integrating electric vehicles (EVs) into transportation within the Texas-Triangle Megaregion, with a specific focus on Harris County, Texas. Using advanced tools such as the EPA’s MOVES4 software, GREET software, and rigorous statistical analysis, we conducted a comprehensive life-cycle analysis of EVs across multiple scenarios spanning the years 2022, 2032, and 2042. By examining these scenarios, we assessed the long-term environmental benefits and challenges associated with the widespread adoption of EVs. Our findings provide critical insights into the potential reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants, offering valuable data to guide future pollution mitigation strategies. Additionally, this study contributes to promoting environmental equity by highlighting the benefits of cleaner transportation options for all communities within the region.
2) Assessing community vulnerability across environmental and climate domains at the Dr. Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice. Tasks include conducting vulnerability mapping for fence line residents near operational and decommissioned landfill sites and assessing vulnerability at HISD schools affected by lead contamination, particularly impacting communities of color and underserved populations in Harris County.--
