• Developed and troubleshooted protocols to produce neuronal SNARE chaperone proteins harnessing bacterial and mammalian technologies.
• Designed and developed protein constructs (including non-natural amino acids) capable of single-site labeling for anisotropy and FRET studies.
• Performed quantitative binding studies with Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) to determine recruitment of SNAP25 by Munc13.
• Solved a long-standing problem of expressing the SNARE protein Syntaxin1a complexed with its chaperone Munc18.
Key Accomplishments: Mentored 2 graduate students, developed protocols to express a novel protein complex resulting in new projects, grant submissions and listings in 3 publications.--
