Yale University, West Haven, CT United States
Protein biochemist developing models to study neuronal exocytosis in the lab of Dr. James Rothman.
• Developed and troubleshooted protocols to produce neuronal SNARE chaperone proteins harnessing bacterial and mammalian technologies. • Designed and developed protein constructs (including non-natural amino acids) capable of single-site labeling for anisotropy and FRET studies. • Performed quantitative binding studies with Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) to determine recruitment of SNAP25 by Munc13. • Solved a long-standing problem of expressing the SNARE protein Syntaxin1a complexed with its chaperone Munc18. Key Accomplishments: Mentored 2 graduate students, developed protocols to express a novel protein complex resulting in new projects, grant submissions and listings in 3 publications.--
