I started working at Old Balara as 5th grade teacher from June 2008 to March 2010. Then I was assigned as 1st grade teacher for 3 years. And when our school started special education program last 2013, my principal assigned me as one of the special education teachers.
Old Balara Elementary School is one of the largest schools and very competitive school in Quezon City Metro Manila Philippines. The average population of the employees is 140 with a total of 3,667 students enrolled, including the special education students with a total of 91. As one of the special education teachers, I have shown my skills,talents, dedication, love, patience, sincerity, empathy, collaboration and leadership towards my students, parents, colleagues and supervisors. In our school, I was known as the storyteller teacher since 2010 to present. I love telling children stories every English Month celebration and used to be invited to other schools too. I also coach/trained students in joining quizz bee, declamation, poem, storytelling, arts and crafts, modeling using crafty recycled materials and proud to say that they all won the contest. I also served as SPED Coordinator in our school last 2018-2020. And once again, appointed as prsent SPED Coordinator. During the pandemic, I volunteered as one of the writers of SPED Module- Self-Help and Daily Living in our Division, video lesson developer for the deaf and scriptwriter of values education DEPED TV National Capital Region. My teaching experience at Old Balara Elementary School is very memorable and full of excitement. I have received several awards like Principal's Award, Storyteller Award, Best in National Costume, Best in Character Costume, and Reading Corner. I also received Outstanding Writer Excellence Award - Lesson Exemplar Rank 1 by Beyond Books Publication and Most Outstanding Demonstration Teacher (National Level).--

In my 3 years of teaching preschool, this was the time I realized and had proven that there is really a joy in teaching. Watching my students learn and progress is overwhelming. Specially the time when I trained my students and won several competitions in our district and division level like modern dance, poem recitation, singing solo, and my student was also crowned as Mr. Preschool. I was also awarded as Best Storyteller for teachers' category competition. As a team player and collaborative, I participated group competitions like modern dance, volleyball, chorale and cheering.
