I was responsible for the electrical operations of 13.8 KV Simoprime VCBs, Isolation of generators, and operation of GIS according to the work requirement.
I’m responsible for all electrical operations and Inspection of sites such as start-up and shutdown of electrical equipment like Step-up Transformers (18KV to 380KV, Hyundai TL2050), Distribution transformers (6.6KV to 400V), Auxiliary transformers (18KV to 13.8KV), and changeover a load of busbars (Siemens Simo-prime) for maintenance activity and in case of a shutdown. • Inspection and Operation of static frequency converter (SFC) and excitation (SEE) transformers especially for the start-up of a turbine and control of Power-factor by excitation voltages. • Perform Inspection and Operation of feeder water pumps, gas compressors, and fuel oil pumps as required. Before start-up perform the insulation test of motors and busbars to make sure the equipment will run normally. • Write the procedure and perform the Inspection and operations of UPS in different modes. • Read log sheets of the previous shift in CCR, which indicate operational work and parameters of equipment like Powers, amperes, temperatures, pressures (SF6), and humidity to make sure the readiness of all essential loads. • Regularly perform an inspection of the site to observe the operation of equipment and machinery, generators, transformers, emergency generators, etc., as well as, record & reporting any abnormalities, such as oil leakage, high temperature, and abnormal noise, to the shift supervisor. • Isolate equipment for maintenance work, including GIB (380KV), GCB (18KV), Transformers, and Busbars, and communicate all information with the Saudi electric company and with the shift supervisor about the electrical isolation. Strictly flow permit to work system and lock-out and tag-out the busbars and transformers. • Ensure a safe working environment is always adopted and any potential health & safety hazards should be reported to the department for appropriate corrective action. • At the end of every month, perform the Inspection of all electrical tools and master calibrators. • Carry out other similar duties, such as calculating running hours of various equipment to obtain historical data for maintenance purposes and changeover the load as per schedule. • Support the shift supervisor in the monitoring of SCADA operations. • According to the Schedule, Check the insulation of the Generator rotor, Busbars, Cables, and motors. • Startup and shutdown the Black Start Diesel Generators (13.8 KV) to make sure of the readiness.
