I have been appointed as “Consultant IT/QA coordination” at PMU-BOR. The project “Land Records Management & Information System” is funded by World Bank and is being implemented in the province of Punjab. Main responsibilities of consultancy include Software Quality Assurance, Data Quality Assurance, Software/ IT Issue resolution at various stages of the project, Correspondence with various stake holders relevant to quality assurance. Adopt various industry techniques for this purpose, introduction of new tools for process automation and efficient/trouble free working of Organization/data entry vendors /software vendors and Govt. agencies. Introduction and implementation of automated testing tools, test plan, manage team, create and run test cases for user acceptance testing etc, risk analysis and management, creating standard operating procedures for regional service centers w.r.t. Information technology. Supervise provincial IT team including software engineers, database administrators, network administrators and specialists to improve the processes and adopt new techniques for efficient, effective and less expensive techniques. Assist higher management in taking all IT related decisions and resolution of issues. Present the project status to world bank mission.--

The devastating earthquake that jolted Northern Pakistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir on 8th October, 2005 unleashed and opposite reaction from the Pakistani society which showed its will to come to support of the affiliated people in a big way. The Disaster Relief Management Society (DRMS) came into being as a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered under the Punjab Societies Registration Act of 1860. It was created in the wake of the catastrophic earthquake. This initiative was taken with the view of bringing in place an organization that could collect donations as well as work with innovation and flexibility in forming systems that could bring transparent and meaningful relief in form of money initially, to the earthquake victims and later to other vulnerable sections of society. It was understood that the usual mode of identifying affectees and providing relief was obsolete and fraught with problems. DRMS has been manned, mainly by IT professionals and equipped with modern equipment and gadgetry to collect and verify data create an accurate and comprehensive database.--
