Highlights:Teaching philosophy: Being a professor for more than 15 years, my goal is to actively educate my students with a positive attitude toward challenges and taught using problem solving teaching to engage students in a more meaningful experience. On my experience in Tec de Monterrey, I have had been involved in several courses for academics that I applied in my classes and were very important. On postgrad students, Phs and MScs, my activity was like a couch and guide that enable the students to find the experience and with a calculated challenge the student will develop the needed skills for science. Therefore, my philosophy is to guide the students through a road map to learn the skills and finally evaluate his competences in the field. Goal:Over the past 25 years my research was focused on the design and scale up process with some fundamental concepts to build suitable process with chip and available raw materials. During these years and through the collaboration with industry we were able to design several processes for industry. From a new process line to use pericarp from corn and transform it in a prebiotic additive for food to the design of a process for CO2 transformation in microalgae for a brewery company. I feel very motivated to submit the a proposal to transform blue economy using sea-base waste in useful new materials. Our experience in the biorefinery of sargassum and microalga to produce fish food and pharmaceutical will be of great value. A fast approach that combined biotechnology and smart tools focus on the development will enable through the research line “Bioproduction Systems Applied for the Blue Economy 4.0” to discovery and apply will produce materials of the future base on blue economy. Our experience in the discovery and scale up of enzymes will establish new process for the transformation of emerging pollutants.
