I have been serving my job since March, 2004 as an AGM(Member Service). This position requires engineering background. I am the departmental head of member service department. Electricity is a dream to the rural people of Bangladesh but implementing this program is a mammoth tasks. My service deals purely with these rural peoples. I always try to do my work with very sincerely, dedication and transparently. I always own my system and feel proud to work such a great rural electrification activity. Job Description 1.Prepares annual work plan of activities and budget for member participation activities and in development of the PBS (Palli Bidyut Samity-a rural electricity co-operative owned by the government of Bangladesh). 2.Conducts demonstration, prepares exhibits and leaflets, and makes talks on how to use electricity effectively and safely also on the rights and responsibilities of member ownership in a PBS. 3.Plans and directs the PBS’s house-wiring programs. Publishes the PBS’s newsletter, holds meetings to promote member interest in PBS affairs. 4.Works with community leaders in the service area of the PBS to develop agricultural, industrial, Commercial and public service enterprises, which will improve the quality of life in the village through use of electricity and the PBS’s facilities. 5.As directed by the General Manager, makes arrangements for the annual membership meeting and district membership meeting and for union meetings. 6.Assists with training programs for employees of PBS power use. 7.Develops power use programs to promote increased use of electricity. 8.Motivates peoples living in the Off-grid remote area to use Solar Home System (SHS) and provides SHS facilities among them. 9.Handles consumer complaints. 10.Advises member on purchase and care of wiring, meters, lighting, and electrical appliances and equipments. 11.Supervises employees of extension and member services departments, including hiring with approval of the General Manager, preparing position descriptions, evaluating performance, and being responsible for their leave, promotions and morale. 12. Performs relevant services as outlines in PBS Instruction.--
