Dr. Mennatallah El Kashouty received her Ph. D in Manufacturing Engineering from Lancaster University, UK in 2020. Her research work was directed towards the investigation of the life of Selective Laser Melting (SLM) tooling inserts for high volumes of production for the aftermarket automotive sector. A novel feature-based manufacturability assessment system, specific to SLM, subtractive manufacturing, and injection mould tool insert production was developed to direct the user to consider specific geometric design criteria to ensure viability of tool manufacture.
