I was responsible for mainly financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivables and financial planning.
As an Accountant, I developed reporting and presentation skills. For example, one of my main duties was to provide assistance in financial planning, management and reporting. I had to monitor budget implementation by use of budgetary control measures. I prepared various types of budgets like the master budget, operating budget, cash flow budget and financial budgets. Variance analysis was the technique that I used as a measure to calculate the quantitative deviation of operations from the budgets. I had to prepare financial forecasts for upcoming projects by using previous budgets as a guideline in preparing the next budgets. I also had to prepare financial statements which dealt with issues related to presentation of annual performance of the company within the standards of International financial reporting (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS). I conducted out researches on fuel trends in Zimbabwe and performed complex statistical calculations which had to be presented to management for use in decision making.--
