Population Services International (PSI) is a Washington D.C. based international non-governmental organization with its country offices Africa and Asia. As an Advisor, Health Systems Strengthening (HSS), under the Country Director PSI Pakistan Country Office, I was responsible to lead the HSS portfolio of PSI in Pakistan vis a vis repositioning the organization in the eyes of major stakeholders in public as well as private sectors.
•Led Digital Health penetration in the public sector by engaging MoH for digital health innovations like the Public Health Emergency Operations Center (PHEOC) for Health Security/IDSR, Health Network Quality Information System to strengthen the healthcare regulator to ensure the effectiveness of care, Health Workforce App for Community Health Workers of MoH, and protocols for Quality of Care (QoC) all in compliance with integration standards of DHIS2, this included capacity building for data analysis dashboard creation. •Supported early establishment of digital health operations connecting PSI’s FP/SRH product portfolio (Viaka) with the platform approach by digitally hardwiring payor, provider, and consumer at a single point of care digital mobile and web app with Chat Bot. Proposed embedding of Tele-mental Health with FP&SRH service for the youth bulge. •Well-versed with healthcare data protection standards and compliance requirements. •Led Health System Strengthening (HSS) practice at PSI, aligning the country office with the global strategy. •Conducted Public Sector Health System Landscaping, created strategy, and re-positioning country office in HSS. •Identified, and materialized strategic partnership opportunities in the development sector, public and private sectors. •Engaged 40+ private health sector organizations in alignment with provincial government priorities. •Coordinated with ministries and departments to strategically position PSI for public-private partnerships.--

IRD work in infectious diseases surveillance and response and chronic diseases in the developing world. My role at IRD was to build and lead IRD's Covid-19 Project (called IRD Model). As the project lead I recruited 30-member staff that included the field team, engaged 300+ primary healthcare physicians and trained them for low-flow oxygen therapy and timely referral system to prevent overwhelming of the tertiary care system.
•Led innovative COVID-19 response based on strengthening PHC for IDSR, supported by the Global Innovation Fund. •Developed & managed a team of 30 people, and trained 200+ general physicians for Oxygen Therapy at the Primary Healthcare level, preventing overwhelming the tertiary care system during the pandemic. •Extensively implemented digital health tools for data collection from the field and trained the team for Data Science and Dashboard creation to generate evidence-based insights and increased accuracy of decision-making. •Ensure successful 4,000+ Oxygen therapies, 70,000+ screenings, and 500+ trainings across 06 districts at PHC level.--

•Expanded SINA into a large-scale PHC network from 13 to 30 clinics, changed served 1 million patients annually. •Helped automate and establish Clinical Guidelines-based Protocol of Treatment into an android-based application to create a Clinical Governance Platform increasing the throughput and productivity of physicians to treat more numbers of patients with high quality. The platform also served as a physician clinical quality assessment and audit tool. •Converted all 30 clinics into a paperless system removing the need for pen and paper/manual systems. •Managed PKR 50 M budget, 450+ employees, and PKR 100 million Endowment Fund. •Started special initiative of Paperless PHC EMR System, reduced unit level economics to PKR 400/patient per visit. •Developed an affordable, accessible, and scalable urban primary healthcare model for LMICs. •Special Initiative piloting of the Diabetes Management Program with William Osler Healthcare System, Canada.--
