JUL - Janela U´nica de Logi´stica is a portuary logistics project created to manage and control the flow of water-borne vehicles in some ports of Portugal. The architecture was based on RESTful API's implemented using Java Enterprise technologies such as JAX-RS, EJB's, CDI and JPA (Hibernate) on the backend and Angular 6 on the Frontend. In this project I bootstrapped an integration layer for business processes using Apache Camel, ActiveMQ and Activiti. Moreover, I enhanced the frontend layer by reducing the load time by 80% and the bundle size by 90% using GT Metrics and Google's Page Speed metrics. Very complex project consisting on building an integration layer-application between legacy systems, an acquired software product and other internal applications. The main goal of the application was to process all international payments in strategic branches around the world such as New York, London and Miami. The architecture was based on asynchronous and synchronous communication between the applications using SOAP web services, REST API's, COBOL integration and heavy load messaging system using the JMS specification. Along with the main applications, several side projects were created to assist the main project, such as a BDD (Behavior Driven Development) application using MongoDB, Regression and mock/load tests and a web based monitoring system to provide an overview of the payments going through the application and the foresight of possible errors in production.
