As a Master Teacher, I assume dual functions and duties. One is on the teaching component which include delivery of the teaching-learning process in the classroom. Another component is the supervisory function which includes regular conduct of evaluation and monitoring to teachers in their delivery of the teaching-learning process. From the observations in the monitoring, I will share best practices which can be utilized by other teachers to improve performance and I will model such suggested best practices.
My specific functions include the following: • Facilitates in implementing the instructional program in the classroom. • Facilitates in improving the teaching and learning of classes. This includes the creation of teaching-learning interventions and appropriate teaching strategies that improve teaching practice and increase learners’ academic achievement. • Initiates curricular innovations to make the curriculum more relevant to the specific needs of the students in the classroom. This involves the creation of teaching-learning innovations or contextualized teaching strategies which are either personally made or modified • Plans and coordinates research studies on learning in the school. This is one of my major functionS as a Master Teacher, that of conducting action researches on the created learning innovations at least once a year. I was able to conduct four action researches and two of which are funded by the government through Department of Education in the Basic Education Research Fund. One research won First Place in Region 8 Regional Research Conference which was also published in the Philippine Physics Journal. The other research also won second place in the Division Research Conference which was also published in a University Journal which is Taran-awan Journal of Educational Research and Technology Management • Coordinates with school head towards maintaining a high standard of performance in teaching. This is my regular monthly function which includes conduct of classroom observation and assessment at least 15 times a month. • Suggests the school head on matters pertaining on the improvement of the school program. This aims to improve the school performance. I was able to initiate and implement four school programs which were successful in the improvement of the school performance and learning outcomes • Does related work. These are the assigned ancillary functions. Such functions include being the Senior High School Coordinator, Understudy and Officer-In-Charge, School Monitoring Evaluation and Assessment (SMEA) Coordinator, Research Coordinator, School-based Management (SBM Chair for Curriculum and Instruction, and Division Coordinator for Learning Action Cell (LAC)--
