Chief Data Scientist 02/2020 - current

Industry: Healthcare education
I am the acting director of data science at the Jerusalem Center for Personalized Computational Medicine: Using federated machine learning and High Performance Computing to solve clinical problems and uncover genomic mechanisms of disease
I focus on developing computational tools for the benefit of basic research toward human health. In particular, to responsibly run machine learning models applied to Health Medical Records. Coherent data unification across the medical file requires mining for data from multiple medical institutions to obtain a high level of completeness. For this reason, the models for machine learning, though mature enough, are only sporadically applied to Electronic Medical Records. Our center for computational health joins scientists and practitioners such that their collaborations may contribute to this developing field in several manners: (a) by applying machine learning models and molecular methods to yet unsolved health challenges, (b) developing insights and validating our results on “clean sets”, namely clinical and biological records such as the UK Biobank, thus (c) enabling to integrate the conclusions drawn from the computerized models into the inpatient’s replication records. This is done with the great help of devoted students.--

Visiting research scholar appointment, Mammalian Functional Genomics, Berkeley lab. https://dna.lbl.gov
As a visiting research scholar at the mammalian functional genomics lab I was responsible for the computational work of mouse experiments. In particular (*) Designing Single cell experiments - Decoding the genomic regulation that drives development in the mammalian face. (*) Markovian models for reconstruction of tissue-specific DNA elements based on their methylation state, (*) Optimization methods for clustering and bootstrap designs in single cell analysis, and (*) Curation of transgenic mouse imaging data sets.--
