One of my key achievements in this position was my participation in the structuring, negotiation and financial close on the first Green Bond in East Africa issued by Acorn Holdings Limited in 2019 which raised approximately USD 43 million. I also led the re-opening and upsizing of the same bond in 2021 raising a further USD 14 million.
Other responsibilities included: - Led the renegotiation of the Acorn debt facilities with various providers including Standard bank (SA) and Shelter Afrique following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. - Investor relations, managing diverse current/potential funders and key transaction parties including the DFC (formerly the OPIC), GuarantCo, The Green Bond Programme and local pension fund managers. - Generation of debt funding proposals as well as technical facility support papers. - Oversaw the tracking and reporting of the financial covenants arising from the various funding agreements.--
