I am April P. Pielago, 37-years-old citizen of the Philippines. Currently I am employed as a Special Education Teacher III at Magugpo Pilot Imelda Elementary School SPED Center, the only public schools in our city that caters to children with special needs. I have been teaching for 7 years and deeply committed with this profession.
As a teacher with of students with diverse needs, I am committed to several responsibilities including: 1.Assisting with physical, intellectual, visual, hearing, or multiple disorders in developing life skills. 2.Creating and implementing individualized educational plans for each student. 3.Assessing student’s physical limitations, orientation and mobility within the school environment to meet their specific needs. 4.Teaching students with speech and hearing disabilities to enhance their proficiency in sign language. 5.Conducting enhancement training in sign language for teachers and parents with deaf children.--
