Offshore helicopter pilot based on Tuna Purse Seiner Vessles in the Pacific Ocean.
Engaged in offshore helicopter flying using a Hughes 500 helicopter, based on a tuna fishing vessel (the Sea Trader) which operates in the Pacific ocean. Normal tasks include tuna school spotting flights, hovering over water / fish herding on net setting, installation of radio buoys on FAD (fish attracting devices) special raft installations or logs in the ocean (requiring stable low hover aside the raft), cross deck flights to other ships for personnel, material or medical transport and other related tasks. Taking off and landing is always performed from a small moving/banking platform – the ships helideck. High winds and high tides constitute a usual challenge.--

Basic flight testing curried out on the Ultrasport 496Turbine Helicopter in Cyprus and abroad. The great effort and work of Platon Markides and his associates make it great fun to fly the helicopter that one has to get his hands on in order to be able to appreciate!! The great power to weight ratio, the technologies involved as well as the safety factor of 5 to 1 on the most critical components being used make this helicopter unique in its class. Demo flights have also been conducted. Above all the great family style climate that exists among the members of the team is phenomenal!!!--
