Highlights:1- Successful Project Execution: FFBL Power Company (118 MW Coal Power Plant Project): Active team member / packages lead as Process Engineer during all phases of the $270 million EPCM green-field project from design till commissioning and start-up. Main contributions included below; a. Process Design & Engineering b. Participated in Process hazard Analysis of the project c. Project Execution and Commissioning Led commissioning activities, ensuring that all systems were fully operational and met the required performance standards. Developed and implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists and coordinated with vendors and contractors to achieve seamless project completion. 2- Process Optimization and Efficiency: Optimization Initiatives: Led several process optimization projects across multiple plants, resulting in efficiency and a significant reduction in operational costs. Developed and implemented innovative strategies for improving plant performance and minimizing downtime, contributing to increased profitability. Few examples are given below; a. Steam Saving through Process Optimization: ? Proposed the idea to operate a 1 MW steam turbine (for driving a pump) on back pressure mode instead of condensing and utilize the exhaust energy instead of rejecting to condenser. ? Annual steam saving by 79,200 MeT/hr (271,152 GJ) costing US$ 1.509 million (PKRs 419.8 million) b. Energy Saving by Cooling Water Optimization: ? Simulated the turbine condensers and cooling water flow were optimized by 700 ~ 800 t/h in two steam turbine condensers. Accordingly, one cooling water pump was stopped which resulted in ~300 kW power saving. ? Annual Power saving is 2,376 MW and cost impact is US$ 170,935 (PKRs 47.5 million) c. Conduct Performance / Heat Rate Test & Highlight Problem Areas and Recommendations for Improvement: ? Conduct Performance test of Auxiliary Boilers, Steam Turbines and overall Plant Performance as per ASME PTC guidelines, and for cooling tower as per CTI code including efficiency calculations and highlight areas for improvement. 3. Leadership and Team Development 4. Safety and Compliance: ? Process Safety Management: Played a pivotal role in the implementation of PSM protocols, including conducting safety audits, HAZOP studies, and MOCs. ? Successfully identified and mitigated potential hazards, ensuring a safe working environment and full compliance with industry regulations. ? Part of core team for Process Safety Management Implementation (CCPS) 5. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: ? Collaboration with Stakeholders: Proven ability to engage and collaborate with both internal teams and external vendors (e.g., BHGE, HHI, Sulzer). Effectively communicated technical details and resolved issues in a timely manner, ensuring alignment of project objectives with stakeholder expectations.
