While pursuing my degree I excelled in a variety of news mediums. I was a staff reporter and the Opinions editor for our university newspaper and won the 2011 California College Media Award for Best Opinion Column. Also, I was a reporter/anchor/producer for the campus news station and hosted a weekly 30-minute interview program. My work in multimedia won a 2011 CCMA for a photo/audio documentary about an up-and-coming coloratura soprano. Because of my tenacity, I was given the Judge Julian Beck Award for Most Outstanding Graduate, which is highest honor the journalism department can award.
