My thesis titled as "Dynamics Of Holes In Films" involved numerically simulating the bursting of liquid films resulting from the impact of air bubbles on the ocean surface. This phenomenon is crucial in the exchange of matter and heat at the ocean-atmosphere interface. I used the C language with VoF to simulate the bursting of bubbles, the shrinking of films, the falling of jets and the healing of holes. I also automated thousands of simulations via Bash to study the hole-healing threshold under various conditions and explore methods for controlling it.
